Vision & Purpose
Currently, if you don’t already have money, a place to live where art happens, and spare time to make work, you can’t easily build an art career - because the structure only really functions for those who start with these advantages. Being talented isn’t enough. You need time and space to make the work, and most people can’t afford that time, so their talent never gets the chance to grow. As a result, the public art landscape reflects wealth, geography, and personality more than creative ability.
We want artists without advantages - of money, personality, or location - to have the same visibility and opportunity as those who do.
The Foundation intends to make it possible for a collector in London to discover extraordinary artists working anywhere - including regions with less cultural infrastructure, fewer resources, or fewer opportunities for visibility. It is designed to nurture emerging artists and open access to visibility, space, and belonging.
We are developing the structures that make this possible - central London viewing spaces and studios, national residencies, mentoring, and a connected field of support.
The New Blood Art Foundation is designed to give emerging artists real visibility and real pathways into public and professional life, connecting artists and audiences through exhibitions, gatherings, and shared creative spaces across the UK.
