The vision for the Foundation is to give emerging artists permanent ground of their own - its own bases and studios, the Prize, mentoring, a network across the UK - and, with its partners, residencies and exchanges in all kinds of places. Partners fund that and, if they wish, host it.
A working studio is alive. It is alive in the purest, most exciting, creative, heart-centred way a human being is alive, in all its uniqueness.
As the world moves into automation, the heart and spirit and talent and vision of artists become the most vital currency. Being an artist is the ultimate embodiment of humanity.
What the Foundation offers a partner is proximity to that aliveness: true visionary artists at the point of emergence, chosen by an organisation attuned to this very particular point in the market and life of an artist for twenty-two years. When the world asks what is truly valuable, the answer will be unique creative visionaries - and the partners who stood with them early.
This is already in motion. The Emerging Art Prize has run since 2023, built on tutor nominations from Fine Art departments across the UK - a live, working relationship with the places where serious artists first appear. For a partner, that opens one door among many: the whole world of new artists - degree shows, graduates, the work just appearing.
Ways to partner
Founding patron. Unrestricted, multi-year support. The partnership the Foundation most needs, and the one that makes the rest possible. Founding partners will be named as such.
Prize sponsor. The Emerging Art Prize - launched 2023, inaugural exhibition at Saatchi Gallery, tutor nominations from Fine Art degree courses across the UK - can carry a sponsor's name.
Named bursaries. Money direct to artists: materials, stipends, the cost of the years an emerging career takes.
In-kind expertise. Legal, accountancy, insurance, property, governance.
Space. A building, a floor, a wing, an outbuilding, a site awaiting development - as a working studio, a residency, or a permanent base.
And there will be ways to partner we have not thought of. If you have a vision for how you would like to interact with emerging artists, we can be your first point of call.
Status
The New Blood Art Foundation is in formation. Charitable registration is being pursued. The Foundation is not currently soliciting donations, and no partnership is concluded until charitable structure and terms are in place.
Conversations with prospective partners are open now.
