A Foundation for the Future of Creativity

The New Blood Art Foundation is designed to create the conditions for talented emerging artists to build sustainable careers. It aims to open access to visibility, space, and professional opportunity for artists regardless of financial background, geography, or personality.

The Foundation grows from two decades of work through New Blood Art - recognising artists at the point of emergence and carrying their work into public and collector view. It extends this work by developing the practical structures artists need: space to work, time to develop, guidance for practice, and clear routes into the professional field.

The Foundation is shaping a long-term vision for a network of permanent bases across the UK. These spaces are conceived to offer working studios, residencies, public-facing activity, and professional guidance - providing artists with the time, support, and context needed to develop their practice and share work with wider audiences.

Together, these spaces are intended to form an interconnected system, supporting movement between locations, exchange between artists, and sustained visibility for emerging work. The aim is to create equitable routes to recognition - so that talent can be encountered and supported wherever it originates.

The Foundation is building an ecology that places talent at its centre: an architecture through which recognition can become possible and sustainable creative lives can take shape.

Footnote

The Foundation’s current ecosystem connects with Fine Art programmes across the UK. It recognises that this excludes many talented artists who have not been able to access formal education for financial or geographical reasons. A parallel route for these artists is in development, shaped with guidance from an expert selection group.
